Market

Modeling of economic performance of corrugated cardboard
G.I. Dolinskaya, Zhydachiv PPF, V.N. Moroz, Dr., JSC Institute of Paper, V.V. Milenkiy, Dr., NTU KPI
In the article using the developed program authors assume different versions of the technologically best and cost-effective compositions. The authors conducted a research on the impact of paper and paperboard mass of 1 m2 of the quality of corrugated cardboard. Also in the set linear dependence of the resistance to compression of corrugated cardboard face-end of the mass 1 m2 of fluting and the face-end figure of resistance to compression, thus confirming the validity of amendments made to the formula.

Material

Trends in the world market of biodegradable polymers
E.V. Shibirin, Dr., O.D. Fedoryak, Dr., Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry and Petrochemistry, NAS of Ukraine, P.V. Zamotaev, Dr., CG Consulting, Kiev
The article shows the main causes of the global development of biodegradable polymers. To define the term «biodegradation» in developed countries there are specific standards.
The authors identified and reviewed three main ways development of biodegradable polymers:
• partial modification of natural polymers (eg starch);
• obtaining monomers by chemical means or fermentation followed by polymerization;
• production of micro-organisms or genetically modified crops.
It is shown that in the near future the world will increase significantly the production of biodegradable polymers subject to reorganization of the recycling infrastructure.

Cation glues’ influence on cellulose fibers
L.P. Antonenko, Dr., A.D. Bilan, T.A. Butmarchuk, D.N. Skladanny, Dr., National Technical University of Ukraine KPI, Kiev
With the aim of investigation of cation glues’ influence on shallow fiber retaining on the net, the influence of starch glues such as ÊÓ-1 and ÊÄ-2 received in the laboratories, on leaf wood cellulose fiber was researched. The obtained results confirm the fact that these glues give the possibility to receive casts with parameters which overcome of that ones received with the use of Zhukovsky glue, not worse than samples produced with the ceresan glue.

Optimization of composition of the fibrous intermediate products for the manufacture of fluting
R.I. Cherepkina, Dr., V.G. Ploskonos, Dr., NTU KPI, Kiev
The article shows how to use the methodology of application of mathematical models to determine the optimal composition fluting. The authors determined the ratio of high-yield pulp, cellulose of poplar wood in the composition of waste paper for paper grades B-0, B-1, B-2.

Investigation of paper formative properties of peracetic cellulose from rape straw
I.M.Deykun, Dr., V.V.Poyda, V.À.Barbash, Dr., National Technical University of Ukraine KPI, Kiev
Microscopic structure of rape straw and cellulose obtained from rape straw by pulping with the liquor of peracetic acid was investigated. Fractional content of peracetic cellulose from rape straw by fiber length was defined. It was found out that physical-mechanical indexes of peracetic cellulose from rape straw near to sulfate bleached cellulose from soft wood.

Packaging

Retort-packages: fashion or necessity?
G.L. Ryabtsev, Dr., I.O. Mikulenok, Dr., National Technical University of Ukraine Kiev Polytechnic Institute
The article is given extensive information about the new form of packaging — Retort-packages. The authors tell about history and the need for an innovative packaging. Also reviewed terminology, typology retort-packages, their advantages and the main directions of application. The article reports the features of the technology and equipment for the packaging of products in retort-packages, their sealing sterilization. However, given the problem of implementation of such a package and prospects for its appearance on the Ukrainian market.

Packaging for canned products
(status and prospects)

V.N. Krivoshey, Dr., IAC Upakovka, Kiev
The article presents an analysis of the Ukrainian market of fruits and vegetables and canned meat, canned fish and preserves. The author identified trends of each type of canned food, packaging analyzed for canning. Based on the structure and parameters of the packaging for the canned goods to calculate the quantity of consumer and transport packaging, auxiliary packaging means and packaging materials for their manufacture.

Equipment

System analysis of energy consumption in group packing equipment
V.V. Khalaydzhi, IAC Upakovka, A.N. Gavva, Dr., S.V. Tokarchuk, Dr., National University of Food Technologies, Kiev
In this article, the authors based on analysis of packaging technologies group developed a generalized graph of the packing operation, and on the basis of mass and energy flows - energy graphs.
Based on the analysis of energy graphs authors found the ratio of energy consumption by different functional modules of the group of packing machines and ways to improve them in order to minimize overall energy consumption.
